Welcome to The Housing Network
The Housing Network provides affordable rental housing with a difference.
Neither public housing nor private rental, community housing is long term, secure housing with rents set at below market value, and ensures that no tenant pays more than 30% of their gross income on rent.
With up-to-date, well maintained properties located throughout the Hume region of Victoria, The Housing Network offers alternative accommodation for low to middle income households.
Successful applicants need to be eligible for Commonwealth Rent Assistance and/or public housing in Victoria. The Housing Network aims to house people in the community of their choice.
During 2009 – 2010 The Housing Network will construct approximately 100 new homes throughout the Hume region including Shepparton, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Broadford, Wallan and Seymour. A range of properties, from 1 to 4 bedrooms – some with modifications for disability access - will become available, significantly adding to the supply of affordable housing in many communities.
The Housing Network is committed to increasing the supply of affordable housing and works with many other community organizations to encourage sustainable, long-term tenancies.
